Slow publishing.

This is the second iteration of my first poetry quilt series. Every once in a while, one of my poems turns into a series of quilts. It gives me great pleasure to know that each stanza is a blanket loved and living with different people, connecting them in an ephemeral way.

This poem was written for my daughter when she was born.

grow, child

eat sunlight

and apples

grow strong roots

gallop the earth

taste butterfly sunlight

and ferns in the air

around the bend wishes

and soft breeze kisses

hide mud happy toes

in frog dimple shadows

berry blissed fingertips

in bumblebee golden afternoons

belly laugh sky

leap so high

love life

live love
